Is Apple making a foldable iPad with 5G support?
July 7, 2019

Rumors suggest yes, but is it the iPad we’ve been waiting for?

We won’t likely hear about a new iPad until this fall, but rumors have already started circulating online as to what type of iPad we can expect. With the new iPad Air and iPad mini launching earlier this year, the iPad Pro tablets are due for an upgrade.

Of course, you can Apple to update the screen with the same high refresh rate and a faster processor with iOS 13 installed but it looks like there may be a new design that will come with it.

Rumors suggest that the next iPad will sport a foldable design – but we won’t get to see it this year, as Apple is preparing it for next year. Foldable displays are the new trend these days, but as we’ve seen from Samsung and Huawei, they’re quite not ready to be sold commercially yet. Knowing Apple, they won’t jump on to new technologies like foldable displays unless they’re really sure that the design needs it.

Another is that the new iPad could have native support for 5G networks, which fits the roadmap of new devices coming out this year and also confirms that the new iPhones releasing in September could also point to 5G support.

Of course, these all just rumors, but it does give you an idea on what to expect from Apple this year.

Will you upgrade to the new iPad if it has a foldable display and/or 5G support? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
