Also debuts 5.7” LG V10 smartphone and the world’s lightest PC
Following in the footsteps of brands like Samsung and Sony, LG Electronics have opened their first ever exclusive brand showroom in the Middle East. Located on Level 2 of Dubai Mall and spread across 300 sq. meters, the outlet is specifically designed to showcase LG’s technology across different business units including Home Appliances, Home Entertainment, Mobile Communications, IT and Residential AC.
The event was hosted by Mr. Kevin Cha, CEO of LG Electronics MEA and Mr. Yong Geun Choi, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE was attended by Mr. Eqbal Al Yousuf, President of Al Yousuf LLC and Mr. Ahmed Al Yousuf, CEO of Al Yousuf LLC. Also gracing the occasion was H.E. Laila Mohammad Suhail, CEO of Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment (DFRE).
Mr. Choi, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE, said “The opportunities in the GCC are tremendous and this lucrative market mirrors robust potential for brands globally. Commenting on the occasion, H.E. Suhail said, “The opening of the first LG exclusive brand showroom in the UAE is yet another indication of the robust retail sector that Dubai embraces. DFRE works closely with all retailers in Dubai and such initiatives enhances the city’s position as a regional retail hub, especially with a global renowned leading brand such as LG. We congratulate them on this far sighted move, whilst pledging our full support to ensure that they reap the benefits of such an initiative”.
On the occasion, the brand also unveiled LG’s latest ultra-smart phone, the V10 and the world’s lightest PC, the LG Gram. The V10, the first ‘V’ series phone, comes with a 5.7 inch screen of 1440×2560 pixels and runs on a Snapdragon 808 processor and 4GB RAM. It also has a 16MP camera and has 64GB of storage. It also has a secondary screen of 2.1 inches which can be used to display notifications. LG also launched the LG PC Gram, a 14” Core i7 processor laptop, which the brand is marketing as the world’s lightest PC.
The LG V10 is already available for consumers across the region while the LG Gram will be made available to consumers from the first quarter of 2016.
In terms of brand stores, LG has plans to open more across the region.
