LG teases its new ‘Velvet’ smartphone

A new change in design for the company’s smartphone lineup.

LG has just released a teaser for its new Velvet smartphone that showcases a new design that’s different from the typical looks of previous LG models. Despite the Velvet branding, it was revealed that his smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 5G 765 processor, a midrange model compared to the more powerful Snapdragon 865.

LG’s new Velvet smartphone follows a new 3D Arc Design that includes symmetrical curves on the front display and the back of the device. In a previous statement by LG senior vice president for product strategy, Chang Ma said that the Velvet design aspect “reflects current trends of addressing the unique personal tastes and emotions of the individual with a greater emphasis on design.”

At the back of the Velvet, you will see a new ‘raindrop’ design for the camera lenses that resemble rain falling from the top. The teaser also revealed that the device will still sport a 3.5 mm headphone jack which could point to an integrated DAC present on the Velvet similar to its V-series smartphone.

Sources said that the Velvet will be officially revealed next month, so we may have to wait and see if the Velvet can help bring back public interest on LG smartphones.
