LG’s 77” 4K OLED TV launched in Dubai!

August 20, 2015

The TV’s are 85% slimmer than competing LCD’s

OLED’s are the next gen of the TV business. Premium, yet unparalleled in its visual contrasts and mastery of black, the OLED TV market has grown sevenfold over the last one year. LG as a brand has had a strong focus on a yet-largely untapped, if incredibly fast growing, segment of the TV industry, with a massive 90% share of the global OLED TV market. Which brings us to LG’s latest 4K OLED TV range, which launched in the Middle East yesterday.

jcrop-previewAccording to the brand, LG’s new 4K OLED TV Series is 85% slimmer, 20% narrower, and 26% lighter than competing LCD TVs. On the USP side, the 4K ULTRA HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) OLED TV range delivers perfect black and colors with an infinite contrast ratio as well as wider viewing angles thanks to its self-lighting pixels. Plus, a response rate that is 1000 times faster than LCD panels, effectively eliminates motion blur.

Coming in 77”, 65” and 55” iterations, the series features Tru-4K Engine Pro, webOS, 4K 3D+ ULTRA HD and a HEVC Decoder. A partnership with Harmon/Kardon ensures rich and high-quality audio as well.

jcrop-previewThe regional event was hosted by Mr. Kevin Cha, President, Middle East and Africa Region and Mr. Hyoung S. Park, Group Leader of Home Entertainment Company Sales & Marketing, LG Electronics. Mr. Kevin Cha said, “The MEA region is a diverse and growing market, and LG sees huge potential here for OLED technology. At LG, we intend to create a new market here for the next step in the evolution of TV. As part of our ongoing commitment to giving users the best viewing experience possible, we are proud to continue leading the way in the next generation of home entertainment through our OLED TV’s.”

While there is no word on the pricing as yet, LG’s 4K OLED Series will be rolled out across the GCC over the course of the next few weeks.
