Looks like Android O is coming next week

August 13, 2017

But only for supported devices.

While Android O has already been out to developers for testing in the past months, many are still wondering when they will get the final version. But now it looks like we have a date: August 21.

This comes from a few insiders working on Google’s mobile operating system, so there’s a good chance you can start downloading Android O sometime next week.

The only problem is that this version of Android O is for the Google-branded smartphones like the Nexus and Pixel lines. If you are using a third-party manufacturer device then you may have to wait a couple of months before you get the update.

From Google’s documents, the following devices are scheduled to get Android O:

  • Nexus 5X
  • Nexus 6P
  • Nexus Player
  • Pixel
  • Pixel XL
  • Pixel C

Now the only thing remaining is for Google to reveal what Android O’s name is going to be.
