Think any classic reel creation, and a good part of the pleasure is being immersed in its environs. Whether Apocalypse Now or Raging Bull, your choice of receivers ensures detailed reproduction of the ambience, the sheer nuances of every dialogue spoken. For over 65 years, Marantz has been the choice for home cinema purists, with AV amplifiers that combine home theatre prowess with the most encompassing soundstage.

Which brings us to Marantz’s 2020 SR series of 8K-Ready AV receiver and AV amplifiers receivers. Marantz’s four-strong 2020 SR-Series comprises the 7-channel SR5015, the 9-channel SR6015 and SR7015, and the flagship 11-channel SR8015.

Take the flagship SR8015. Featuring a large toroidal transformer, mounted centrally for mechanical balance and a copper plated chassis, it’s symmetrical monolithic amplifier design gives it 11 identical amplifier channels, each delivering a massive 205W per channel. Exquisite video performance is a given thanks to the latest HDMI technologies such as 8K/60Hz pass-through or upscaling, various HDR format support including HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) and Dynamic HDR. The Marantz SR8015 includes 8 HDMI inputs and 3 outputs for all your favourite sources. One dedicated 8K input supports 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz pass-through capability, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10, 21:9 video, 3D and BT.2020 pass-through. Additionally, the latest HDCP 2.3 copy protection standard is supported on all HDMI ports.

Plus, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X coming up, Marantz have kept gamers in mind as well. All the four SR models, the SR5015, SR6015, SR7015 and SR8015, carry an HDMI port capable of supporting the latest HDMI v2.1 features and 40Gbps data rates. Which means that the AVRs can pass through 4K/120Hz video streams as well as supporting variable refresh rates (VRR). Plus automatic low latency mode switching means a connected TV will automatically switch to a fast response Game mode when a game source is detected. There’s also support for Quick Frame Transport technology, which carries frames at higher rates to further reduce display latency, and Quick Media Switching (QMS) technology, which uses the VRR system to stop your display from suffering momentary screen black outs when switching between video modes.

In terms of availability, the Marantz SR Series will be available at authorized Marantz retailers towards August and early September. SharafDG+ are the regional distributers of Marantz in the region, so head to uae.sharafdg.com to stay updated on availability!
