Meet #TheNextGalaxy!

The Samsung Galaxy S6 (and Galaxy S6 Edge) is here.

At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today, Samsung officially announced its next flagship, the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S6 is the latest and greatest smartphone to come out of the event, hours after HTC unveiled the HTC One M9. But that’s not all, the Galaxy S6 Edge is also being released alongside Samsung’s latest flagship.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 comes and Galaxy S6 Edge will both come with a Super AMOLED display along with a Quad HD resolution – matching it with the LG G3 and the Nexus 6. The fingerprint sensor is back – but as reported, you would no longer need to ‘swipe’ your finger but it can easily recognize fingerprints by simply touching it. Yes, just like Apple’s Touch ID, but by this time we’re tired of comparing the two and who copied what. Both smartphones are almost identical, with the S6 Edge having two curved edges.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge now feature a 16 megapixel camera along with optical image stabilization and continuous autofocus plus a wide aperture of f/1.9. The front facing camera will come at 5 megapixels. Both smartphones will also come with wireless charging capabilities.

Rounding off the specifications is an Exynos Octacore processor along with 3 GB of RAM, 32-64-128 GB of storage, Category 6 LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and will run Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Both smartphones will also feature Samsung Pay – the company’s version of Apple Pay, which basically offer both options for making contactless payments.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 should be available in the couple of months. More information on local pricing should be available shortly.
