MENA Cinema Forum commences in Dubai

Dubai will host the only cinema convention in the region.

The MENA Cinema Forum officially commenced in Dubai where the convention will celebrate and discuss everything in the world of cinema. The event will see more than 60 speakers and 800 experts that will highlight the new trends in cinema production, construction, technology and content from over 50 countries.

The event aims to bring various industry leaders and decision-makers to meet international movie creators and even pioneers to discuss the future of cinema. The event is supported by Dubai Studio City and other giants in the cinema industry.

The cinema industry has grown over the years – just in Dubai alone, nearly every mall has its own multiplex that includes various new technologies that enhance the movie-going experience. From IMAX to 4DX, the city will spoil you will different choices when watching your favorite blockbuster.

Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Studio City, said: “Technology transformed the way we produce and consume content, and as a result of The MENA region’s content creation industry, especially Arabic, has grown rapidly supported by new technologies and the emergence of new platforms. Dubai successfully managed to be a hub for aspiring content creators and filmmakers by providing them with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and the right ecosystem to thrive.”

Now in its second year, the MENA Cinema Forum will also host various premieres of new and upcoming movies that include Zombieland: Double Tap, Son-Mother, The Addams Family, Leonardo: The Works and Terminator: Dark Fate. Various activities during the MENA Cinema Forum will include film slates, exhibitions, award ceremonies, workshops, and even special screenings.

The MENA Cinema Forum will run across 3 days until tomorrow at the Conrad Hotel. The event is being organized by Great Minds Event Management.
