Microsoft goes all out with new Surface devices
October 3, 2019

The company has also introduced a new smartphone.

At an event yesterday held in New York (you can watch it via the link above), Microsoft has officially revealed a new lineup of Surface devices along with a few surprises from notebooks, tablets to smartphones and headphones.

Here’s a rundown of everything Microsoft has announced:

Surface Duo – Meet Microsoft’s own Android smartphone. It’s a dual-screen smartphone that literally has two screens that can separately run different apps or one app across the two displays. This is different from the foldable smartphones released by Huawei and Samsung that use one single screen that can be folded. Instead, The dual screens can be independently controlled in any orientation. The Surface Duo is scheduled to arrive next holiday season so you have time to save up.

Surface EarBuds – Of course Microsoft is also joining on the wireless headphones fad. The Surface EarBuds offer a solid sound performance if you’re cool with a round-shaped device stuck in your ear. Jokes aside, Microsoft has offered various customizations and integrations with existing products. The catch? It’s more expensive than Apple’s AirPods by almost $100.

Surface Neo – This dual-screen tablet looks like the big brother of the Duo smartphone. The same rules on the dual displays apply: use separate apps on each or utilize the screen estate for bigger coverage. It features a Bluetooth keyboard that connects via magnets. Just like the Duo, the Neo is scheduled to arrive late next year.

Surface Laptop 3 – Microsoft’s Surface Laptops are always a favorite here at T3 Towers, which is why we’re excited about this new iteration. The Surface Laptop 3 comes in 13-inch and 15-inch versions and features the latest hardware and removable parts that would ease serviceability just in case something happens.

Surface Pro 7 – This is the newest generation of Microsoft’s laptop and tablet hybrid. It brings an ultra-thin screen with the usual magnetic keyboard. Specs like a 12.3-inch PixelSense display, 10-generation Intel Core processors along with USB-C ports easily make this a prime choice for Pro users.

Surface Pro X – That doesn’t stop there though, Microsoft another Pro device in the form of the Surface Pro X. It features an ARM processor complete with keyboard and stylus not to mention a long battery life (13 hours!) and LTE support. There’s a user replaceable SSD, USB-C ports and a crisp 13-inch display. Users who want to sway away from Apple’s iPadOS should find something familiar with the Surface Pro X since it will be running Windows 10.

Stay tuned as we will be bringing you more information about these awesome new Surface devices once they become available here in the UAE.
