December 29, 2020

Launched in cooperation with Huawei.

A new digital nol cord has been launched by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority. This new digital nol card, along with a new nol Pay app is part of the RTA’s plan to innovate Dubai’s public transportation. Huawei was announced as the key partner for the launch, with the nol Pay app launching on the Huawei AppGallery.

Huawei smartphone users can now access the region’s first digital nol card through the Huawei AppGallery. This will allow users to purchase tickets to all of RTA’s public transport services including the Dubai Metro, water buses, trams, etc., and the nol Pay app can also be used to recharge the digital nol card, which is accessible through the nol Pay app and Huawei Wallet.

Don’t worry about security, since Huawei AppGalley’s stringent security meets the highest international standards to protect your data wherever you do a transaction.

“The new RTA nol Pay app works with HUAWEI Wallet to enable residents in the emirate to quickly pay for their public transport journeys – and any facility that uses nol cards – from their HUAWEI smartphones. Users can download the app directly from HUAWEI AppGallery on their smartphones, create their Huawei ID using HUAWEI Wallet app and begin using this service immediately to top up their digital nol cards and pay on-the-go through their phones. HUAWEI Wallet provides the underlying NFC technology support to nol Pay app, which enables a seamless and secure payment experience for Huawei and RTA customers,” said Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO, Corporate Technology Support Services Sector of RTA, Dubai.

Pablo Ning, President of Huawei Consumer Business Group, Middle East & Africa also highlighted the partnership between Huawei and how it can help innovate the RTA’s plan for transportation in Dubai. “We are proud to be working with RTA as it continues its journey to adopt digital technology into the services it offers. The exclusive launch of the RTA Digital nol cards on Huawei smartphones represents a milestone achievement and is the first of its kind in the region. The success of this partnership highlights HUAWEI AppGallery’s ongoing commitment to working with local partners in developing the most innovative and compelling experience for our users. By partnering with esteemed entities like RTA, we look forward to continuing to support the innovation agenda of the UAE government.”
