iPhone X ad features Portrait Lightning selfies.

You have got to hand it to Apple, when they made ads they’re actually fun. This newest ad from the Cupertino company highlights one of the features of the iPhone X – Portrait Lighting on selfies. The iPhone 8 Plus also has this feature, but is only limited on the rear camera.

Portrait Lighting on selfies was made possible with the iPhone X’s TrueDepth camera system which also handles the secure Face ID platform. This latest 30-second TV spot shows the various ways you can take selfies with the effect set against the background voice of none other than boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

While Portrait Lighting is technically still in beta mode, so expect a hew hits and misses. But when the lighting is right, you’re treated to a whole new way of taking selfies.
