Google to launch the Pixel 5 this month
September 15, 2020

The next Pixel event will be held on September 30th.

Fresh off the launch of the Pixel 4a, Google has now started sending out invites to the media for a special event on September 30th. The invite highlights new products from Google that include a new Chromecast, smart speaker, and of course, a new Pixel device.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise since Google has already teased the 5G-enabled Pixel 5 to arrive later this year. Along with that, a 5G version of the Pixel 4a could also be released. There is also word that Google won’t fit the Pixel 5 with top-of-the-line hardware similar to the Nexus line, but will still of course be optimized since it is running the stock version of Android 11.

The new Chromecast will likely now sport the Android TV interface similar to leaks circulating online in the past months. Along with that, an updated Nest smart speaker is also expected, which points to a pillow-like design.

More details will be revealed on September 30th, so stay tuned for our coverage!
