Images of the next-generation foldable leaks online.
After the relaunch of the Motorola RAZR as a foldable smartphone earlier this year, the company has confirmed that it is already working on a next-generation RAZR that would support 5G. Just today, our favorite leaker Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) has posted images of what seems to be the RAZR 5G.
Blass refers to the image as the Motorola RAZR 2020, which also bears the code name Odyssey. The images don’t seem to be working devices, but more like 3D renders of what the actual device will look like.
From the image, it looks like the design is mostly unchanged, with the large foldable display still front and center when you open up the device. The notch above the screen looks smaller, and the chin below also looks shorter.
Additionally, there’s a more pronounced camera bumped when it is closed, and a larger external display. Hopefully, this means that they’ve improved on the RAZR’s camera – taking cues from the excellent cameras of the Edge+.
Hardware isn’t confirmed, but a leaked spec sheet earlier this year said that the RAZR 5G could possibly run on a Snapdragon 765 CPU with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Sources say that it will still run Android 10 out of the box, but Android 11 should also be supported in a future update.
