OPPO launches the Reno2 in the UAE

Updated specifications include new photography technologies.

Just last night in a special event held at the Armani Hotel in Dubai, OPPO has officially launched the Reno2, its newest flagship model that brings in new photography-enhancing features and improves everything that made the original Reno a great smartphone.

Following a teaser campaign that saw the new smartphone being projected on the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, the Reno2 introduces a new quad-camera setup made even better with a new super-stable video shooting capabilities. From Ultra Dark Mode to 5x Hybrid Zoom, OPPO made sure the Reno2 has all the necessary features to make it a worthy camera phone.

“The Reno2 series is the second range of premium products we have launched in the region in line with our strategy to build a high-end brand. As a series that focuses on photography, Reno2 represents OPPO’s latest technologies that have been created keeping the young trendy consumers’ needs in mind. This latest iteration of Reno series empowers consumers with access to premium technology to discover new perspectives of the world around them,” said Ethan Xue, President, OPPO MEA in a statement.

Here’s a rundown of the OPPO Reno2’s specifications:

  • 6.5-inch AMOLED display (1080-by-2400 pixels)
  • Snapdragon 730G
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 256 GB storage
  • Quad-camera setup (48 MP + 13 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP)
  • 4000 mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 support
  • In-display fingerprint scanner
  • ColorOS 6.1 (Android 9.0 Pie)

The OPPO Reno2 will come in Luminous Black and Ocean Blue and will be available from October 30th starting at AED 1,999.  A less expensive variant, the OPPO Reno2 F, will come in Lake Green and Sky White with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM and will be available from October 30th at AED 1,499.

Additionally, OPPO has released a new pair of noise-canceling headphones. The OPPO Enco Q1 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones in Midnight Black and Sunny Orange and will also be available from October 30th starting at AED 499.
