Their mobile business is no longer present in the Middle East.
Despite Sony’s exit in the mobile business in some key regions like the Middle East, it is still introducing new smartphones in select markets that unarguably makes us wish it was still available here.
One of these new devices includes the Xperia 1 III, rumored to feature a camera that with 2x/3x optical zoom. A periscope lens design would allow for up to 5x digital zoom, perfect for close-ups without losing image quality.
OnLeaks revealed leaked renders of the new flagship, which will also feature a 5G modem. This will be a more consumer-friendly version of the Xperia Pro, which was announced with a $2,500 price. The Xperia 1 III will also feature a taller 21:9 aspect ratio on its 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display and will be keeping the 3.5 mm jack.
The rest of the hardware includes a Micro SD card slot, a fingerprint sensor embedded inside the power button, front-firing speakers plus a dedicated shortcut key.
The Sony Xperia 1 III will of course be launched in select markets like the US, and don’t expect the smartphone to arrive in the UAE soon. If you really want to get your hands on the new Xperia, importing it is the best option.
