Xiaomi’s new flagship is arriving this week, but it looks like details of the Mi 9 have already been released days before it is officially announced. The Mi 9 is the company’s latest and greatest device, which will feature top-of-the-line specifications without burning a hole in your wallet.
The Mi 9 is now confirmed to be running on the latest Snapdragon 855 CPU, which should put it on par with the latest devices to be launched this year. It will also have a bezel-less display with a chin that’s thinner (3.6 mm) compared to recently released devices like the Huawei Nova 4 (3.9 mm) and the Oppo R17 (4.1 mm).
Other specifications for the Mi 9 include a triple camera setup composing of a 48-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/1.75 aperture, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 2x optical zoom and lastly an ultra-wide angle lens. There’s also a 20-megapixel front-facing camera included.
The Mi 9’s body will be made from stainless steel with four different color options including a solid black/gray and blue colors along with gradient blue and pink versions. The camera lens will be protected by sapphire glass.
The Mi 9 will come with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution. There’s also 6 GB/8 GB of RAM and 128 GB/256 GB of storage. A special Explorer Edition of the Mi 9 will come with a transparent back and a beefier 10 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. All devices will run Android PIe with Xiaomi’s own MIUI 10 customizations.
No word yet on the price, but expect it to cost less than other flagships, which should be the smartphone’s best selling point.
