To launch later this year.
Confirming earlier rumors we reported earlier, it looks like Spotify is officially coming to the UAE as part of its expansion to the Middle East. Reports have confirmed that the company has now leased an office in Dubai along with postings of vacancies on LinkedIn.
The reports did say that Spotify’s arrival in the UAE is still in its early stages, and while it’s confirmed to launch, that won’t happen until the end of this year to early next year.
Anghami is currently the most-used music streaming service here in the Middle East since Spotify isn’t officially available. Anghami currently has various licensing deals with local and international music brands.
Despite the availability of Anghami, many expats in the UAE manages to get Spotify working since they have it in their own countries. I personally use my own premium subscription on Spotify in the Philippines and it’s great that I can use the service here in the UAE.
Spotify is currently one of the largest music streaming services in the world, and it’s just about time that it finally launches here in the Middle East.
