Paperless tickets rolling out in the Emirate.
Gone are the days when you have to print out a parking ticket to display it on your car. Just this week, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has just started rolling out eParking tickets across Dubai. These newly upgraded parking meters are equipped with interactive touch screens where you simply need to enter your vehicle details to have your parking tickets issued.
This process eliminates the need to print out tickets which can potentially help the environment and of course supports the vision of Dubai’s Paperless Strategy across all its services. Just like previous parking meters, you have the option to pay with coins or a Nol card. Alternatively, you can still use mParking which is a method to pay for a parking ticket through SMS or through the RTA app.

RTA said that the installation of these new parking meters will be implemented in different phases starting this year until the end of 2022. Aside from moving to an all-digital platform, the implementation of eParking will also eliminate offenses resulting from the improper display of parking tickets inside cars which have been a common occurrence.
