They will offer free repairs and refunds.
The Nintendo Switch has already proven itself to be one of the best consoles in this generation. However, recent hardware problems have already plagued it weeks after it has launched. One of these problems is the ‘drift’ problem on the Joy-Con controllers that users have been complaining about for a while now.
Thankfully Nintendo has officially acknowledged the issue and has issued a statement saying they will be offering free repairs and even refunds to affected customers. This comes after some users have filed a lawsuit against Nintendo due to the faulty controllers that have become unusable.
“At Nintendo, we take great pride in creating quality products and we are continuously making improvements to them. We want our consumers to have fun with Nintendo Switch, and if anything falls short of this goal we always encourage them to visit http://support.nintendo.com so we can help,” the company said in a statement to CNET.
Users in the Middle East though would have to contact local retailers on how they can have their affected Joy-Con controllers fixed and if possible, get a refund since Nintendo doesn’t have any local presence here in the region.
@NintendoAmerica I’ve owned the switch for 4 months and am experiencing joycon drift already this is highly unacceptable and unprofessional. Your “Support” told me to pay $4 shipping to have you guys fix your faulty controller. No thanks. pic.twitter.com/PAnGO9BIcd
