Nissan made a GT-R drone as fast as its sportscar

June 29, 2016

The company’s new 2017 GT-R is so fast that they had to create a special drone that can follow it.

Nissan’s latest GT-R is so fast that normal drones made to follow it are either too slow or can’t catch up. But the company thought of a genius solution: build a drone that is equally as fast as the GT-R that would be able to follow the vehicle.

Basically called the GT-R drone, it has now been dubbed as the fastest accelerating first-person racing drones in the world. Why? Because it can go from 0-100 km/h in just 1.3 seconds! The drone is made with four 2000 kV XNova motors that allow it to go that fast.

To showcase its capabilities, the drone was raced against a 2017 GT-R on a course with the drone following it. The drone can hit a top speed of 185 km/h while the GT-R can reach speeds upwards of 315 km/h.
