Nixon announces its first Android Wear smartwatch

March 17, 2016

Say hello to ‘The Mission’.

Nixon has just announced a new smartwatch that’s built for extreme use. Named ‘The Mission’, it boasts a huge 48 mm case covered in shock-resistant polycarbonate that includes a roll cage bezel that surrounds the display.

Even the display itself got an upgrade: Nixon has used Corning Gorilla Glass and coated it in a type of heavy duty crystal – it may safe to assume it takes more than just a fall to shatter that display.

Additionally, The Mission also can survive a depth of up to 100 meters and pressures of up to 10 atmospheres. There are about 20 selections of bands and various choices for colors to suit your needs.

While the smartwatch will run Android Wear, Nixon has also included a new Trace and Mission apps that would let you track your exercise sessions along with current weather conditions.

The Mission is powered by the Snapdragon 2100 processor – the new CPU Qualcomm has developed that is made exclusively for use on smartwatches and other wearables.

No word on the price yet, but from the video below it does look like one awesome smartwatch.
