Nokia’s Here Maps is coming back to iOS!

December 11, 2014

One of the best mapping applications is making a comeback.

Nokia’s Here Maps was one of the best mapping applications available. It somehow is at par with Google Maps, and since it is not available on the Windows Phone platform, Here Maps offered a decent alternative.

Here Maps was also one of the first apps that delivered an option to use the app offline. It also delivered turn by turn navigation which proved equally useful for user who do not have mobile data on their smartphones.

The release of iOS 7 last year prompted Nokia to remove the app from the app store citing that the OS destroyed the Here Maps experience. Good news is that after the app made a comeback on Android platforms the other day, Nokia has confirmed that it will be making its way back to iOS platforms soon. “We really appreciate this interest and demand. Our iOS app development team is working hard on this and we plan to officially launch HERE for iOS in early 2015,” the company said in a blog post.

You can wait until the iOS version releases next year or if you have an Android smartphone, you can download Here Maps for free.
