The first Chromebook to feature AMD Ryzen CPUs and AMD Radeon graphics.

Acer has just released the Chromebook Spin 514, the first Chromebook that runs on the AMD Ryzen 3000 C-Series Mobile Processors and AMD Radeon graphics. Also launching is the Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514 made for business customers.

Based on the ‘Zen’ architecture, the Chromebook Spin 514 utilizes the power of the Ryzen CPU and Radeon graphics to bring consistent responsiveness along with a faster boot time and long battery life. This translates to more efficient usage of the Chromebook that performs well on any task.

The power-efficient hardware also helps deliver more than 10 hours of battery life so you can use it anywhere without any worry of losing power. Additionally, the 1.55-kilogram weight along with that thin and light design makes it portable for everyday use. Other specifications include up to 16GB of DDR4 DRAM and up to 256GB of storage.

The display comes in at 14-inches, with a Full HD resolution that’s also touch-capable. It’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and features a 78-percent screen-to-body ratio. There’s also a backlit keyboard and concave keys for a comfortable typing experience.

This Chromebook’s chassis is made from anodized and sandblasted aluminum with a diamond-cut pattern on the cover as well as the touchpad. The reinforced chassis can keep the notebook safe from dents, dings, and corrosion.

“The pairing of AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors with a durable design makes the new Acer Chromebook Spin 514 an excellent choice for users that need to get work done at home,” said James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, IT Products Business, Acer Inc. “Users will be blown away by the new level of responsiveness and performance provided by the Acer Chromebook Spin 514 with AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors. Plus, the Ryzen 7 3700C Processor offers the best graphics available in an AMD-powered Chromebook, so our customers can take advantage of the growing range of apps and extensions to tackle even more challenging projects.”
