Rumor suggests that ‘dark mode’ is coming to iOS

January 2, 2017

iOS 10.3 coming this spring.

A recent leak suggested that a new ‘theatre mode’ is coming to all iOS devices in the form of iOS 10.3 with the first beta of the device arriving on January 10.

Theater mode is said to be a new icon found on the Control Center that may point to the new feature that would transform the smartphone to a more theater-friendly profile. Though the Do Not Disturb technically already does the same thing.

Others also speculate that theater mode is actually a new ‘dark mode’ that’s coming to all iOS devices that changes the overall theme of the device from the normal white tone to a darker one. Dark mode is currently present on macOS and was introduced on the Apple TV a few months back.

We may have to wait and see what Apple includes with iOS 10.3. If we follow the company’s schedule, it is likely that the new version should rollout by March, just in time for the announcement of the new iPads.
