Move comes after several death upon taking selfies in various situations.

The Russian government has issued a warning against taking selfies in the country after a rise of accidents concerning people taking selfies in ‘dangerous’ situations. In an interview with AFP, Russian interior minister Yelena Alexeyeva said, “Unfortunately we have noted recently that the number of accidents caused by lovers of self-photography is constantly increasing. Since the beginning of the year we are talking about some hundred cases of injuries for sure.”

A pamphlet has also been circulated that warns of the dangers of taking selfies in areas such as railway tracks, or in a company of wild animals, or even holding a gun. The situation is getting worse, as more and more people are trying to showcase extreme selfies that police and government intervention was needed to make it stop.
