OPPO’s new Smart Sensor ensures your privacy is always prioritized
January 19, 2021

AI-enhanced Smart Sensor lets you control and protect your smartphone hands-free.

OPPO debuted a first-of-its-kind privacy protection technology in the form of an AI-based Smart Sensor that brings increased privacy on devices. Debuting with the Reno4 series smartphone, this technology has supported the company’s R&D vision to deliver smartphones that aren’t just smarter but also enriches the user experience.

Mobile phones are currently one of the most important social interaction tools, but they are now more vulnerable to threats especially with information that you store on it. On smartphones, strangers can easily glance over your screen and could potentially see an official email or any other private content.

“We are seeing an increasing demand from UAE consumers for privacy features as well as lifestyle features in smartphones. With consistent penetration of the internet and information technology into our lifestyles, staying always connected has made privacy protection one of the trickiest problems for smartphone users. With the new AI-enhanced smart sensor, OPPO is offering consumers smartphones that could realize the integrated functions of N-in-one such as AI assistant, privacy security, and touchless gesture operation. It supports the original intention of the OPPO brand and its Research & Development team to make mobile phones smarter and maximize the experience and the technology,” said Tarek Zaki, Senior Product Manager, OPPO MEA.

The next-generation solution provided by the Smart Sensor offers AI-enhanced capabilities that bring privacy to midrange devices that other manufacturers don’t offer. Some of the features supported by the Smart Sensor include Spy Detection that can detect is someone is looking over your smartphone, there’s also Smart AirControl that lets you scroll pages without touching the screen or even answer calls through a swiping hand motion, Smart Rotation where the smartphone can know the orientation of a user’s face and the Smart Always-on Display that prevents the screen from dimming or shutting while you are still looking at the phone.

All of these privacy-enhancing features are available on the OPPO Reno4 series, now available for 1,499 AED.
