Actually, it’s just a wearable, but still close to the real thing.
Probably one of the breakout stars of the new Star Wars sequel trilogy is the adorable round droid named BB-8. It became so popular that when Sphero made a real-life version of the droid it became one of the top gadgets the past year.
Sphero’s BB-8 toy can be controlled via a smartphone app that connects to the droid via Bluetooth. But now, the company is making another accessory called The Force Band that will let you control him using ‘The Force’.
The Force Band is basically a wearable that resembles a smartwatch where it uses built-in sensors and accelerometers that would let you control the droid – making it look like you are using the ‘Force’. Tech Radar has put up a video of the Force Band and how it works.
The Force Band will be available soon and also releasing is a new BB-8 toy that comes with a new post-battle look (the previous one was the clean and shiny version).
No word on pricing as of yet but Sphero says we can expect a release date this fall.
Now this is one wearable I’d love to put on my hand.
