Snapchat’s 3D Paint will let you create works of art in augmented reality
November 4, 2019

The new feature is now rolling out.

A new 3D Paint feature is now rolling out to Snapchat users in the Middle East, which will let you create fun art in augmented reality. This can range from doodles to even works of art, and you can immediately try this right from the Snapchat camera when you open the app. Additionally, you can also use the selfie camera to make AR doodles of yourself.

3D Paint is actually part of Snapchat AR Bar, which lets you discover and navigate Lenses and other camera search experiences on Snapchat. There are a total of four key functions: Create, Scan, Browse, and Explore. 3D Paint will be part of the Create section of the AR Bar.

3D Paint will be officially rolled out to iOS users first running iOS 8 and above. It will be rolling out to Android users in the next few months.

This is just one of the ways Snapchat is redefining the app experience, which focuses on the camera as the center of communication between close friends.
