Dubai-based Emirates NBD has already been one of the few banks in the country that are pioneers in adapting the latest technologies to banking easier to consumers. Another addition to that list is WhatsApp Business, which Emirates NBD will be utilized to provide customized banking services.
Its plan is to integrate various core systems using the WhatsApp Business solution, a new way of letting customers connect with establishments. Through WhatsApp, customers can inquire about their account balance or even temporarily blocking or unblocking a card.
Abdulla Qassem, Group Chief Operating Officer, Emirates NBD said: “Following the launch of the initial phase, we look forward to progressively expanding our range of WhatsApp based services to deliver a unified, digital experience for our customers. In doing so, the new offering will complement our existing digital and social media channels in a secure and convenient way.”

The service is being testing for the bank’s employees at the moment, where it will rolled out to everyone as soon as it has completed the successful trials.
