Instagram will now tell if you have a stalker
February 13, 2018

Well, sort of.

When Instagram launched its Stories feature, no one thought it would be as popular as Snapchat’s own feature, where it famously stole the feature. But fast forward to today and Instagram Stories is now one of the biggest features of the platform. In fact, just last year around 250 million people are using Instagram Stories.

The popularity of the feature has Instagram introducing new features and yes, it’s another feature ‘borrowed’ from Snapchat: screenshot notifications. Rolling out to all users starting this week, Instagram will now tell you if someone takes a screenshot or records your story. A notification will let you know the exact user who took the screenshot.

The new feature is simple, but it does give users more control over the content they are sharing and it gives people who creep into other user’s accounts a more difficult way to follow someone. Well, that only applies if you’re a stalker.
