Snapchat now offers in-app meditation with Headspace

Part of a partnership with the meditation platform.

Snapchat is now also a meditation tool thanks to Snapchat’s Minis partnership with Headspace. It aims to bring guided meditations, animations, articles, and even videos that are aimed to improve the health and happiness of an individual. These tools will be easily accessible to all Snapchatters along with the option to check-in with their friends and family.

Snapchat stresses the need to be relaxed at a stressful time – something that users seem to forget. They said by putting resources front and center where you and your friends and family already meet and share, the Headspace feature will help provide a safe space to practice meditation and other mindfulness exercises.

“Snapchat is deeply committed to the wellbeing of our community. From the beginning, our goal was to give Snapchatters a place where they felt comfortable expressing themselves with their close friends and finding support,” said Hussein Freijeh, General Manager of Snap Inc., Middle East.

Headspace is part of Snap Minis, which is a new way for developers to bring bite-sized experiences to Snapchat that can be integrated into conversations with friends and family.

“We have a deep and guiding belief that technology should be designed for humans — not the other way around. Our core innovation, ephemeral messaging, reflects that approach — encouraging the kind of natural, spontaneous conversation people have with their close friends in real life,” concluded Freijeh.
