Also includes Indoor Maps for popular malls.
One of the trending topics on the Dubai subreddit today is the news about Apple Maps finally supporting turn-by-turn navigation, which has now been officially confirmed by Apple.
While the Maps app has been available in the UAE for quite some time now, features like turn-by-turn navigation weren’t supported. This meant that users on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch had to install third-party applications like Google Maps for navigation.
Aside from turn-by-turn directions, Maps now has full Arabic language support that guides you while driving or walking. Additionally, Indoor Maps support for Dubai International Airport, Festival City Mall, and The Dubai Mall are also available, letting you navigate and explore inside the locations even before you arrive.
Other features include Collections that lets you save your favorite locations and places, Share ETA that you can send to your friend and family to know when you’re arriving, Flight status where Siri uses on-device learning to scan information and let you know about gate locations and boarding times.
Apple also highlighted the privacy features of Maps, saying that you can use it without the need for an Apple ID, and all other personalized features are done on-device.
