Reintroducing e-grocery convenience at economical prices.
Check out Yeepeey, a new e-grocery mobile app that lets you shop from neighbourhood grocery stores, supermarkets, and hypermarkets. Prices will be the same as how it is on the stores, and you can also take advantage of promotions and discounts with your groceries delivered in 30-45 minutes.
Yeepeey aims to eliminate the mark-ups and reduce the service fees to a minimum or sometimes free so convince users to order more frequently from their homes or offices. The app also reflects the same in-store promotions and discounts, so you don’t have to visit the store physically to use it.
The startup was founded by Dubai-based entrepreneurs Monish Chandiramani and Jatin Sharma, both 25 years old. Founded in 2019, Yeepeey was conceptualized after Chandiramani noticed that he was spending more money on other e-grocery apps.
“Ordering basic essentials via an e-grocery app was way more expensive than buying it from the store itself. Even though convenience plays a major role, consumers still don’t like to pay extra mark-ups over and above the prices displayed in the grocery stores in addition to the exorbitant delivery fee. With the ease in movement restrictions, consumers would simply prefer walking down to their nearby stores for small purchases,” Chandiramani said.
“Yeepeey, therefore, aims to provide the most pocket-friendly shopping experience to its users by listing all the local grocery stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets on the app with no extra mark-ups on prices and keeping the services charges mini-mum and even free in some cases. As per new market trends, the growth in the e-grocery sector is expected to be dependant on the frequency of orders than the number of users,” he added.
At the moment, Yeepeey covers more than 150 stores and activated more than 50 merchants on the app across 30 localities in Dubai that includes Business Bay, Barsha, JLT, JBR, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Downtown Dubai, Bur Du-bai, Karama, Greens, Lakes and Emirates Hills. The company is looking to further expand operations to include bakeries, confectionaries, flower shops, and even pet care with the ultimate aim to create an end-to-end ecosystem.
