An Indian-based firm will be launching a new battle royale game called FAU-G (Fearless and United: Guards) that will fill the gap left by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). PUBG was one of the manyChinese-made apps banned by the Indian government.
FAU-G was developed by NCore Games which is based in Bengaluru and is being prepped for launch in October, with some levels taking place in places like the Galwan Valley. It is also the place where a clash between Indian and Chinese troops along a disputed border happened in June.
The conflict was one of the reasons why India famously banned more than a dozen Chinese-made apps from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, locking out some popular apps like TikTok, WeChat, Shareit, Likee, and PUBG.
NCore Games said that FAU-G will be focused on Indian patriotism, and mentioned that 20 percent of the revenue earned from the game will be given to support families of soldiers who die on duty.
To help promote the game, the makers have partnered with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who the makers said was the one who came up with the game’s title.
