Microsoft’s ‘Your Phone’ app will let you stream Android apps

Now use your Android apps on a Windows 10 PC.

It will soon be easier to use your smartphone if you’re on a Windows 10 PC. Microsoft has continuously added new features to Your Phone that allowed you to seamlessly access your Android smartphone on your Windows 10 PC. With Samsung announcing the Note20 series last night, a new partnership with Microsoft revealed that the Your Phone app will now let you stream and use Android apps right inside Windows 10.

Previously, you can see a mirrored image of your smartphone inside the Your Phone app – but now, once you launch an app, a separate window will open which will let you operate it independently but will still be running from your Android device. You also are able to pin your favorite apps right on the Start Menu and the taskbar. This means that you can immediately launch any app from your Android device without having to open the Your Phone app.

“When you launch an app, it opens in a separate window, allowing you to multitask and saving you the time and hassle of sign-in or set up. You can also pin your phone’s Android apps to your Windows 10 taskbar or Start menu for quick and easy access, making things like checking out your social feed or ordering your lunch while you wrap up a conference call even easier, without ever picking up your phone,” Microsoft said in a blog post.

At the moment, this new feature on Your Phone will only be available on Samsung devices – no word yet if other Android devices will also have support.
