Multi-device support for WhatsApp could launch as a public preview
January 7, 2021

Before it officially rolls out to everyone.

One of the most user-requested features on WhatsApp was true multi-device support, and it looks like they’re prepping for a public preview phase of the feature before it rolls out officially.  It’s a surprise that WhatsApp still hasn’t supported the feature considering it is now one of the biggest messaging platforms in the world.

A post by WABetaInfo revealed that WhatsApp may be considering a public preview of multi-device logins for each account. The screenshots below point to the ability to link another device that could sync your messages so you can use them on any device.

Reports did say that a public preview may not happen soon, but it is still certain that multi-device logins will still happen. At the moment, the only way you can access your messages is by logging in to Whatsapp Web which would also require the main device to still be connected for it to work.

Hopefully, WhatsApp starts rolling out the feature soon. Just this week, it has officially rolled out support for disappearing chats, that if enabled will automatically delete conversations after 7 days.
