Spotify rolls out widget support for iOS 14
October 15, 2020

An easier way to access your music library.

An update to the iOS Spotify app today finally enabled support for widgets on devices running iOS 14. The feature was previously being tested for beta users but it has now started rolling out to all users.

The widgets though are pretty much standard, giving you a glimpse of previously played songs and playlist highlighted inside it. But it does give you an easy way to open up your music selection right from the home screen.

The widget’s background will also change depending on the content that you have recently played. This means that the design of the widget will constantly change with every use. The Spotify widget can be accessed by long-pressing your home screen to bring into jiggle mode. Once there you can tap the ‘+’ sign on the upper left corner and look for the Spotify widget.
