A lighter version of the dating app is being made.
Tinder has already made a name for itself as one of the premier dating apps, and now the company is looking to reach more users in emerging countries by introducing a ‘Lite’ version of the app.
Tinder Lite is just like the previous Lite versions of Facebook, Messenger, Uber, etc. Specifically made for Android devices with lower hardware specifications, it doesn’t occupy a lot of space and uses fewer data compared to the full app. It’s also the perfect app to launch in emerging countries.
The core features of Tinder should still be present, so expect the swiping gesture to make its way to Tinder Lite. No other specific features were mentioned, but the stripped down version of Tinder will have less heavy animation so it won’t slow down entry-level devices.
Tinder Lite should roll out before the end of the year, so expect more choices when you see who’s available.
Tinder was also a popular app in the UAE, though TRA regulations also meant that the app is now blocked from access in the country.
