It will soon be easier for you to migrate from different operating systems.
One of the major hurdles you encounter when shifting between an Android and an iPhone is transferring data. Over the years though, it has become easier for you to migrate between devices since most data can either be synched or transferred without any hassle.
That is sadly not the case with WhatsApp and as some of you may have already experienced, migrating your WhatsApp messages from an iPhone to an Android or vice versa isn’t exactly possible. WhatsApp backups are only supported on the operating system itself, and these backups can only be restored between two iPhones or two Android devices.
But that could end soon, as WABetainfo reports that the beta version of the popular messaging app will soon allow you to migrate chats to another device, no matter if it’s an iPhone or Android. In the image, it shows that there is a new function that will let you migrate chats easily – as long as you have the latest version installed.
It was also reported that this feature will debut as part of the major changes in WhatsApp, including the ability to use one account across multiple devices.
Since the feature is still in its early stages, it may be a while before this feature is rolled out to users. But as users have been requesting for years for this feature to arrive, I’m sure they won’t mind the wait.
