Some users report of ‘hissing’ sound coming from their iPhone 7

September 19, 2016

Too soon to call it ‘hissgate’?

Days after the iPhone 7 has launched worldwide, some users have started reporting that the brand new smartphone is making ‘hissing’ noises when the smartphone is under heavy load (i.e., gaming, video editing).

The hissing was first reported by Stephen Hackett of 512 Pixels who shot a video of the smartphone making the hissing noise – not only Hackett, but a few users have also started saying that similar sounds also happen to their units.

While it wasn’t a cause for concern for some users, other may feel annoyed the noise being emitted by the device. Some say the noise may be due to the new A10 Fusion processor, which they compared to a PC having its fans in full throttle when placed under heavy load.

Apple has not yet release a statement on the issue.
