November 15, 2020

For those who desire reference-quality imagery, the Sony Bravia 75Z8H provides that extra level of lifelike detail that sets it truly apart. Incredibly enough, the Sony Bravia 75Z8H and its 85″ variant boast a pixel density close to their Pro monitors, which are used in many Hollywood post-production suites. As our hands-on session with the Sony Bravia 75Z8H  showcased, the end result is an immersive, studio-quality viewing experience in your living room.

With a clearly distinctive design aesthetic, Sony have spared no expense making the 75Z8H truly immersive. This is evident with the narrow aluminum bezel that keeps you focused on what’s playing on the screen.

Aside from hidden cable holders to keep it free from clutter, the Bravia 75Z8H even features a discreet stand that doesn’t get in the way when you’re watching and can even be used in wide and narrow settings so you can easily place it on top of any shelf.

Unarguably one of the best TVs we at T3 Middle East have used, the 75Z8H brings comes with some of the best display technologies available. A key to the 75Z8H’s exceptional contrast is Sony’s full-array direct-lit LED technology.

With up to twenty times the screen contrast range of conventional edge-lit LED TVs, the Bravia 75Z8H produces deep, accurate black levels and incredible contrast — essential for accurately reproducing HDR-enhanced content.

Thanks to Sony’s X1 Ultimate processor, any kind of content can easily be upconverted to 8K resolution without losing texture and detail. Whether it is 2K or 4K, it can upscale content through 8K X-Reality PRO using a unique 8K database.

The X1 Ultimate Processor utilizes three key areas in delivering the best image quality: Clarity for upscaling content, Contrast for enhancing dynamic contrast, and Colour which offers precision mapping to optimize colors in real time made even better by HDR. This set of features all together brings the best out of any content you’re playing right into your living room. Even better, the 75Z8H uses a panel that is viewable on any angle so you’re not missing any of the action.

Speaking of action, the Bravia 75Z8H uses X-Motion Clarity, which takes advantage of the XBR-75Z8H’s multi-zone full-array backlight to localize the blinking to just the part of the screen where the motion is happening. That eliminates motion blur without dimming overall picture brightness. Users also get the latest Dolby technologies with the 75Z8H, with native support for Dolby Vision for brilliant-looking images, and Dolby Atmos for the best spatial audio.

Sony’s Bravia line-up and incredible sound have always been synonymous, and the 75Z8H features Acoustic Multi-Audio that includes a vibrating frame tweeter with independent amps that manage sound output to sync with what’s happening on screen. It’s so good that you can even assign the speaker as a center speaker when you connect it with your home theater setup.

The 75Z8H is a Netflix recommended TV, ensuring the best way to experience the streaming service which goes through different criteria to get certified. Plus, fans can also enjoy the Netflix Calibrated Mode, a mode specially developed to enjoy Netflix originals and reproduce the same picture quality on a TV as on a studio evaluation master.

The 75Z8H comes pre-installed with the Shahid app, which lets you enjoy thousands of movies and shows in Arabic.

Running on Android TV, the 75Z8H gives you access to thousands of apps available on the Google Play Store that you can enjoy on the big screen. You can also use your voice to talk to the TV in Arabic, without using your hands. Not only that, but voice search is also available in 22 other languages. Of course, there’s also Chromecast support built-in, so you can easily share content from your Android device.

Come to the iOS side of things, and the Bravia 75Z8H has Apple AirPlay and HomeKit support. This means that you can mirror video and audio to your television right from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and watch movies and shows from the Apple TV app, your favourite apps or Safari.

The smart features of the 75Z8H also extends to the remote control. Aside from supporting other devices and voice control support, the keys are even backlit so you can easily use it in the dark.

The 75Z8H is one of the Bravia televisions tailored for next-generation gaming. The eagerly awaited PlayStation 5 is finally here, and this display is able to support 4K/120fps output for the most realistic and smooth gameplay. The 75Z8H also includes a game mode so you can enjoy a smooth and responsive game play with little to no lag. What’s more, you can also use your TV’s remote to control playback on your PlayStation. [Software Update Disclaimer: For 4K 120Hz, a software update is required, and this shall be available in the next 3-4 weeks]

Overall, the Sony Bravia 75Z8H hits all the right marks with its excellent video, audio and smart TV performance. Also available in a larger 85-inch size, it’s easily one of the best 8K TVs that you can buy right now. Much recommended!
