Sony turns water bottles into a new color for its LinkBuds S headphones

October 27, 2022

Sony has announced that it will release the LinkBuds S in a new colour variation called “Earth Blue”, made using recycled water bottle materials. Parts of the body and case of LinkBuds S in Earth Blue are made from recycled water bottle materials which creates a unique marbled pattern. The move is in line with Sony’s commitment to reduce their environmental footprint to zero by 2050, and is further demonstrated with all packaging on the headphones being free of plastics.

In addition, Sony announced that all models in the LinkBuds series will receive a software update to enable the multipoint connection function which allows users to connect to two devices at the same time. For example, if you are playing music on your PC and your smartphone receives a phone call, it will automatically switch to the smartphone’s call without having to switch connections. the update is set to go live in November 2022, with Sony’s WF-1000XM4 headphones also receiving a similar update in the coming months.

The LinkBuds S Earth Blue version will be available in selected countries in Middle East from November 2022, along with regional pricing information.
