They have a winner in the Seed Acceleration Program
Innovation roadbloacks are large corporations are sadly a given, something that leads ideators to look at other avenues to realize their inventions. Under Sony President and CEO Kazuo Hirai, the Seed Acceleration Program has become a path to innovation for the company. This crowdfunding program that allows Sony’s employees to promote their ideas through the platform, where backers can support, reserve and purchase the ideas. A true innovation, and one that needs to be lauded.
At IFA 2016, Mr, Hirai showcased the e-paper timepiece, the rather intriguing FES Watch which comes with up to three weeks of battery life and a customizable, always-on face and band.
For those in Japan, you can until October 7th pledge between ¥44,710 and ¥59,940 to try to get one for yourself.
Projects that are being showcased at IFA 2016 include Aerosense Inc, the joint venture for the autonomous drones and cloud-based data processing services for measurement and inspection, and Sony’s new robotics educational kit called KOOV.
