Honoring female artists for International Women’s Day.
Just in time for International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8th, Spotify is honoring female artists who have contributed to the world of music and who have constantly topped the charts on the music streaming platform.
Spotify’s first-ever global campaign for IWD will highlight how these women are important to the industry using the hashtag #musicneedswomen. On March 8th, Spotify will release a Women’s History Month hub where you will find all-female tracks and playlists along with podcasts featuring the most dynamic women in audio.
From January 1st to March 1st, 2020, Billie Eilish topped the list as the most-streamed artist this year. Spotify said that Billie has more than 10.3 billion all-time streams and more than 60 million monthly listeners. The Grammy-winning artist also sang the theme song for the new Bond movie ‘No Time To Die’ and gained worldwide recognition for her hit song ‘Bad Guy’.
Rounding off the list of top female artists is Camila Cabello, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Hasley, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, Tones and I, Ben&Ben, and Neha Kakkar.
