Fast reliable storage.

Western Digital has just introduced new My Passport SSD drives that now come up to 2TB capacities. The external drives feature a compact metal design along with fast read speeds at up to 1050MB/s using NVMe technology. Made for home and business use, the My Passport SSD is scheduled to arrive in the region next month.

“The new My Passport SSD delivers the speed, reliability, and functionality consumers have come to expect from us,” said Susan Park, vice president, Consumer Solutions, Western Digital. “It is a powerful and sophisticated solution for the everyday content creators, curators, and hobbyists who need to move files quickly. The rounded corners, waving ridges and soft edges enhance the My Passport SSD’s portability and make it easy to carry, yet also distinctly recognizable as a member within WD’s award-winning My Passport product line-up.”

The My Passport SSD is now available to move and edit high-quality content twice as fast compared to the previous version and is also available in colors of grey, blue, red, and gold. Other features include 256-bit AES hardware encryption and also have shock and drop resistance for up to 1.98 meters. The drive connects via USB 3.2 Gen-2 using a USB-C cable and is compatible with Macs and PCs.

The My Passport SSD will retail for $119.99 for 500GB and $189.99 for 1TB with other colors and capacities being available later this year. Each purchase also includes a five-year limited warranty.
