February 17, 2021

The series will be composed of eight episodes.

You gotta hand it to Netflix. One of the world’s biggest streaming services providers is busy churning out original content, and the latest one they’re teasing is an anime series based on the popular video game Dota 2. Netflix made the announcement with Valve, which mentioned that the series will explore the Dota universe ‘like never before’ and has launched a trailer that you can view above.

Titled Dota: Dragon’s Blood, the synopsis reads, “The sweeping fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”

Netflix added that the animation for Dota: Dragon’s Blood will be done by Studio MIR, who was also responsible for its other animated titles The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Dota: Dragon’s Blood will premiere on Netflix on March 25th.
