Leaks show the iPad Air 4 could be more like the Pro

August 30, 2020

It will have a full-screen display but retains Touch ID.

The iPad Air exists between the entry-level iPad and the more expensive iPad Pro, which makes it an ideal choice for consumers looking for a little more power without spending too much on the Pro versions. Rumors said that the iPad Air is getting a fourth-generation this year, supposedly being announced with the new iPhones next month.

But a leaked document from user @DuanRui (see above) tweeted an image of what looks like the instruction pamphlet that normally accompanies new Apple devices when opened.

In the pamphlet, it clearly shows the model to be iPad Air, along with an interesting design change. The new iPad Air now comes with a full display with thin bezels similar to the iPad Pro, along with a shift to USB-C instead of Lightning. But unlike the iPad Pro that uses a TrueDepth camera system for Face ID, the iPad Air will reportedly still have Touch ID embedded on the power button located on the side.

You can take these rumors and leaks with a grain of salt, but sources also claim that this could be the next design change for the next-generation iPad Air. it will join the current lineup that includes the iPad Mini, the iPad, and the iPad Pro models.
