Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab: Not your usual tablet

May 24, 2022

In a world of similar looking and feeling tablets, the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab stands out with form and multimedia, aiming to become the centerpiece of your connected home. Inside, it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor with up to 64GB of expandable storage, 4GB of RAM and a 7,000mAh battery to power through your work.

Versatile use cases

With a unique tapering design, the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab lends itself for multiple usage scenarios. Its bottom edge is curved, which houses its circular JBL-powered speakers. This naturally gives you a place to grip the tablet when on-the-go and enables a slight incline when using it on a flat surface for better visibility of the screen.

On its rear, the tablet is largely made of a soft-touch finish with a metallic kickstand. The latter has a latch which enables you to swivel the stand for comfortable use, whether you are lying down, sitting, reclining or standing. And this is what differentiates the Yoga Smart Tab from the rest. Often, tablets can become unwieldy and difficult to accommodate but with an in-built stand, things are much different.

For example, instead of always having to hold the tablet in your hand, you can prop it up to watch multimedia content anywhere thanks to its kickstand. The latter also doubles to elevate the tablet further on a surface. Often, we find ourselves watching content on a couch or bed with our tablet flat or with something underneath it to prop it up to a suitable angle. However, the kickstand inherently helps improve visibility which is a trademark of the Yoga Smart Tab. The most unique aspect about the kickstand is usage when the tablet is hanging. This could be extremely useful while you are occupied with hands, perhaps when trying to follow a recipe.

Doubling as your smart home assistant

With the emergence of virtual assistants, voice control has become a big part of our daily lives. And Google Assistant has been at the forefront of this development. It enables you to interact with connected devices across your home, whether they are lights, speakers or other electrical appliances just by using voice commands.

Packaged with the Yoga Smart Tab is Google Assistant’s Ambient Mode, which makes the tablet a screen-enabled smart home hub that you can take with you. Especially with its kickstand, you can make the tablet a control unit for your home with easy access to what is going on. Its 360-degree far-field voice recognition picks up your voice across the room allowing you to stay hands free. And you can listen to your favorite playlists, turn up the thermostat or make a hotel reservation all via the tablet and its Google Assistant functionality.

Expansive multimedia

Up front, the Yoga Smart Tab features a 10.1-inch FHD IPS display. This is a great size for multimedia consumption especially combined with the tablet’s innovative features like in-cell TDDI technologies that increase touch interactivity. For all forms of content, the display serves its purpose and has strong viewing angles, legibility and reduced blue light emissions for better eye care.

But what truly completes the experience are the tablet’s speakers. As mentioned earlier, the dual JBL-powered Hi-Fi speakers boosted with a smart power amplifier provide a rich experience especially for bass-heavy audio. For further tweaking, the tablet gives you access to Dolby Atmos allowing you to set your equalizer preferences.

Pricing and availability

If you are looking to spruce up your multimedia game and are looking for a multi-functional addition to your smart home, the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab is a great choice. It is currently available via Amazon.ae and Sharaf DG starting for Dh1,199.
