‘Hey Siri’ support and wireless charging compatible.

Apple has just announced the second generations AirPods that now feature a new H1 chip that supports 50 percent more talk time, improved performance, faster connect times and hands-free ‘Hey Siri’ support. The new AirPods now also come with the option of a wireless charging case compatible with the Qi charging standard.

Design-wise, the second generation AirPods looks pretty much like the first one and most of the improvements lie on the inside. Apple will be selling the new AirPods with either the standard charging case or a wireless charging case.

Wireless charging support has been promised way back when the first AirPods was introduced along with AirPower, Apple’s wireless charging mat for supported devices.

“AirPods delivered a magical wireless experience and have become one of the most beloved products we’ve ever made. They connect easily with all of your devices, and provide crystal clear sound and intuitive, innovative control of your music and audio,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “The world’s best wireless headphones just got even better with the new AirPods. They are powered by the new Apple-designed H1 chip which brings an extra hour of talk time, faster connections, hands-free ‘Hey Siri’ and the convenience of a new wireless battery case.”

The price of the second generation AirPods are as follows:

– AirPods with standard charging case: 679 AED

– AirPods with wireless charging case: 829 AED

– You can also purchase a standalone wireless charging case for 329 AED

You can pre-order the second generation AirPods today and it will be available next week along with the previously announced iPad Air and iPad mini along with the new iMac.
