The LG G3 will get Android Lollipop this week

The company’s flagship smartphone is getting the latest Android operating system first.

LG G3 users rejoice! LG will start rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to G3 users this week, as confirmed in a press release by the company. The LG G3 will be the first mainstream smartphone to get the update – where usually updates takes months to be available on a certain model. To compare, HTC has a 90 day window before it can start rolling out the Lollipop update to their latest flagship, the HTC One M8.

“LG is absolutely committed to giving our customers the best mobile experiences available and bringing Android Lollipop to G3 owners as soon as possible is a top priority,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The new features and improvements in Android 5.0 will bring a whole new user experience to the G3 and make it even better than it already is.”

Look out for the new update coming this week. If you own an LG G3, do share us how the new experience is at the comments below!
